Why the primary-element comparison still gives Wood controlling Earth
The zodiac table selects one primary element for each branch: Wood for Tiger and Earth for Dragon. It then applies the element relationship. It does not expand and reweight every hidden stem, so an internal overlap does not automatically cancel the control recorded at the primary-element level.
In a full chart, the same elements can occupy different pillars and respond to seasonal conditions, exposed stems, and other branches. The 65 is a coarser classification index, not a strength assessment calculated from hidden-stem totals or a verdict about which person wins in a relationship.
Dragon–tiger imagery and branch tables answer different questions
Dragons and tigers are often paired in cultural imagery to suggest power or rivalry. A branch table instead checks the specific Tiger–Dragon pair. Tiger's Six Clash (六冲) partner is Monkey, and Dragon's is Dog. The familiar imagery alone supplies no evidence for a clash between Tiger and Dragon.

Yang Earth inside a Year Branch does not determine the Day Stem of birth. The Day Stem could be Yang Earth or a different stem; each person's Day Pillar is needed.
