Draw those as connections and Tiger is their common node; no direct clash line has been drawn between Horse and Monkey. Three Harmony (三合) membership does not transmit a clash through a third branch. A story about taking sides cannot replace checking the actual pair.

Return to Horse and Monkey themselves. Horse's clash partner is Rat, Monkey's is Tiger; their Six Harmony (六合) partners are Goat and Snake respectively. Neither connection identifies the current pair. If Tiger really appears elsewhere in complete charts, its owner and pillar position must then be considered. It cannot be inserted into two people's charts merely because it helps tell a story about their zodiac signs.

Fire controls Metal, but the arrow grants no authority

The element direction runs from Horse's Fire to Monkey's Metal, not the reverse. Swapping the order of the people changes the A and B labels, not the underlying elemental relationship. That gives a useful consistency check: an account cannot describe Fire controlling Metal for a Horse man and Monkey woman, then reverse the elements for a Monkey man and Horse woman.

Control here is a classification within the Five Elements (五行). Calling Fire passionate and Metal shrewd, then describing a passionate person dominating a shrewd one, adds unsupported character claims. The arrow likewise establishes no injury to the Monkey partner, financial authority for the Horse partner, or obligation for either to give way. The direction can be stated precisely without inventing the people's experiences.

Why 65 does not distinguish romance from collaboration

No named relationship in this table applies to Horse–Monkey. The baseline 70 therefore receives no branch adjustment, and Fire controlling Metal subtracts five, producing 65. With no additional dimension offsets, love, friendship, and work remain at 65. Equal numbers mean this model has no extra inputs distinguishing those dimensions here, not that three real relationships have precisely equal quality.

Other pairs involving Wood controlling Earth can receive the same score. A shared minus-five weight does not make Fire–Metal and Wood–Earth identical facts. Comparing Horse–Monkey with Ox–Tiger should reveal different elements, owners of the direction, and connections through a third branch, rather than the same paragraph about strong personalities learning tolerance. The number is an index into the classification, not a substitute for explaining it.

Neither Snake's punishment nor Horse's self-punishment transfers

Monkey belongs to the Tiger–Snake–Monkey punishment triangle (三刑), but Horse does not. Snake–Monkey can carry both Six Harmony (六合) and Punishment (相刑) in this table; that does not make every sign paired with Monkey inherit punishment. The unit being checked is the present pair of branches, not whether one sign appears anywhere in a punishment list.

Horse is also among the branches for which this model recognizes Self-punishment (自刑), but that condition applies to Horse–Horse. Horse–Monkey is not that pair. Along with the connections through Tiger, this shows why the possibility of a relationship involving one branch does not establish that relationship with every other branch.

A question about two people needs more than two labels

If the question is which traditional relationship applies to Horse and Monkey, the table can answer within its scope. There is no need to invent courtship habits or loyalty levels to make the answer sound deeper. If the question becomes whether a particular marriage is suitable, the inputs must change: the actual relationship, and complete birth information where relevant to a traditional chart discussion, provide the next evidence.

Complete pillars still do not produce an unconditional marriage verdict.
