Which years does the shared label leave out?

The label Dog alone does not identify a particular birth year or an exact age gap. Twelve years is the length of the zodiac cycle, not an established difference between these two people. Use confirmed birth dates and actual circumstances when age or scheduling matters.

The same limitation applies to people of the same age. One might be entering an industry while the other has worked in it for years. Sharing a birth year does not give them equal experience. A repeated zodiac sign cannot establish matching progress in education, work or family arrangements.

The limited finding that Xu–Xu does support

Xu–Xu shares both branch and main element. This page identifies Same-Branch Harmony (比和), not Self-Punishment (自刑); the self-punishing branches in these rules are Chen, Wu, You and Hai (辰午酉亥). The comparison concerns one year branch from each person. It does not place both Xu branches into one person's Four Pillars.

Xu also belongs to the Yin–Wu–Xu (寅午戌) Three Harmony (三合) group and the Chou–Wei–Xu (丑未戌) Three Punishments (三刑) group. Those affiliations do not supply missing branches or turn Xu–Xu into either relation. They describe other combinations under their own conditions, not conditions already established for this pair.

A hypothetical handover needs two real timelines

Imagine two Dog-year colleagues handing over a project. One has a confirmed finishing date; the other still has existing duties to complete. Their common sign cannot establish that the recipient is available immediately, or that the older person necessarily knows more about the project.

Write down the outgoing person's last support date, the incoming person's earliest start date and who is responsible between them. If there is a gap, arrange cover. Several unassigned days should not be treated as a period in which both people will somehow know what to do. This advice follows from the handover conditions; Xu Earth does not assign the roles.

A relationship's next step has two answers to “when”

If two people discuss moving to the same city, one might be able to adjust quickly while the other must finish existing commitments. Each can state an earliest feasible date and any unresolved conditions. Temporary differences in timing do not by themselves establish a lack of care; willingness to wait or adjust still needs each person's answer.

This is another hypothetical situation, not a prediction about Dog signs. A year branch cannot commit anyone to moving, marriage or another major arrangement. Silence should not be recorded as agreement to a schedule.

Friendship at 83 does not set anyone's priorities

The site's category adjustments put friendship at 83, above work at 78 and love at 74, with 77 overall. These are rule-based category values. They do not mean the pair should only be friends, or show who will be ready first. Scores cannot be converted into waiting periods or stages of a relationship.

When two people have agreed on a date, whether the plan can proceed depends on their circumstances and wishes at that time. The scoring rules do not automatically answer real scheduling questions.

Keep two records before making a fuller comparison

A fuller Four Pillars comparison needs separate birth-year, month, day, time and required location information for each person. Do not copy one record merely because both year branches are Xu. The other pillars and each person's time context can differ; a matching Day Master, favorable elements or luck cycle cannot be assumed.

For practical cooperation, the first missing facts may simply be current responsibilities and available time. Establish those before deciding how the two schedules fit together. Same-Branch Harmony (比和) remains a year-branch reference; it cannot merge two lives into a single timeline.
