What Zi Wei date selection actually is
Zi Wei Dou Shu has no ready-made almanac of auspicious days. It has exactly one handle on a given day: the day's heavenly stem turns four stars into Lu, Quan, Ke and Ji, and each of those lands in one of the twelve palaces of your natal chart. Your task lives in a palace too — a negotiation sits in Career, a move sits in Property, a wedding sits in Spouse. That makes the question concrete: do this day's transformations reach your task's palace, and do they arrive as Lu or as Ji? That is the whole basis of this page, and the reason every verdict here can be traced back to a specific line of the chart.
How to use it

Pick the task
Each of the seven event types maps to different palaces. A business meeting reads Career and Friends; a wedding reads Spouse and Fortune. Change the event and the same stretch of days reorders itself.

Enter birth date and hour
The Zi Wei Life palace is fixed by the lunar month together with the birth hour. Get the hour wrong and the whole chart shifts by a palace — a sharper problem than in BaZi, where three pillars still survive a wrong hour.

Read the tier and the transformations
Every day gets one of three relative tiers. Open it and you see where each of the day's four transformations landed and which of them reached your task's palace. If you disagree with a call, you can point at the exact line.
How this differs from other date pickers
No "98/100 auspicious day"
No such quantity exists inside Zi Wei. Inventing one is easy; it collapses the first time somebody who knows the system asks how the 98 was computed. We give three relative tiers and show where every point came from.
No time slots
Zi Wei has no hourly layer. Our chart engine deliberately does not compute one, because it is too weak to carry a judgement and having it would only tempt us into writing "3pm is best". For time slots, use BaZi date selection or the electional page.
The event type genuinely changes the answer
This is not one calendar with seven headings. Because each event reads different palaces, the same month produces a different top pick under "Investing" than under "Wedding".

The daily layer is the weakest scale in Zi Wei
What carries weight in this system is the decade and the year. This page ranks days by the weakest layer, so read it accordingly: it helps you order a few workable days, not decide whether to do the thing at all.
Decade and year are background, not a day's privilege
If the current decade or this year happens to press on your task's palace, the whole candidate range shifts together. The result says so explicitly, so you do not read a constant as "this particular day is special".
Questions people ask
What if Zi Wei and BaZi disagree?
They are asking the same question, so a disagreement is itself information: the day is unclear. The combined page shows that split as it stands instead of averaging it into a bland middle.
Why are there no time slots?
Because there is no basis for them here. The hourly layer in Zi Wei is too weak to support a judgement, and naming an hour anyway would be false precision. This is a settled position, not a missing feature.
I am not sure of my birth hour.
The Life palace depends on the lunar month plus the hour, so a wrong hour rotates the whole chart — consistently enough that nothing looks broken. If you only know the rough time of day, start with BaZi date selection, which still has three usable pillars.
