Combined Date Selection · Three Systems Side by Side
BaZi and Zi Wei vote, electional astrology gates — and when they disagree we say so
How the three divide the work
BaZi and Zi Wei answer the same question — is this day workable for this task — so they corroborate each other and vote together. Astrology answers a different one, so it does not vote: void Moon and Mercury retrograde are about whether the moment itself can carry a beginning, and they can veto a day both other systems liked. Transits to your natal chart only adjust the posture.

How the three divide the work
Averaging three systems' scores is the easiest and costliest mistake a combined product can make. A 62 in BaZi and a 62 in Zi Wei are built from entirely different terms; averaging them is not "taking everything into account", it is treating incomparable quantities as comparable. So this page does not average. It divides by layer. BaZi and Zi Wei ask the same question — is this day workable for this task — which is exactly what qualifies them to corroborate each other and vote together. Astrology asks a different question, so it does not vote: the void Moon and Mercury retrograde are about whether the moment itself can carry a beginning, which has nothing to do with who you are. They act as a gate, and they can push down a day both other systems liked. Transits to your own chart only adjust the posture, and their weight is deliberately kept small.
How to use it
01
Pick the task
Each of the seven event types means something different in each system: BaZi reads branch combinations and the day's five dimensions, Zi Wei reads palaces, astrology reads natal points. One task, three sets of criteria, run at once.
02
Enter birth data (birthplace optional)
You get a result without a birthplace — astrology simply sits it out, the reading falls back to BaZi and Zi Wei, and the page says which system is missing. Add a birthplace and all three take part.
03
Read where each system stands
Every day shows all three stances plus each system's heaviest single reason. Agreement reads as agreement, and a split reads as a split — the latter is not a bug, it is what the day honestly looks like.
How this differs from other multi-system tools
No averaged score
The three scores are not comparable, so we read only their relative tiers. This is not a shortcut — it is how you avoid manufacturing false consensus, the exact failure mode where two systems talk about different things and get scored as agreeing.
Disagreement stays on the page
When BaZi calls a day supportive and Zi Wei calls it blocked, the two votes cancel exactly and the result carries an explicit "these two point opposite ways". We do not dress that up as an unremarkable middling day.
Time windows are forwarded with attribution
BaZi gives two-hour branches, astrology gives minute-accurate windows. The two scales are not commensurable, and a synthesised third scale would match neither. So both appear side by side, each labelled with its source. Zi Wei is absent from that column because it has no hourly layer.
Where this tool stops
Missing a system means missing it out loud
No birthplace means no astrology. We do not fabricate a third opinion and we do not quietly drop it — the result states that astrology did not take part, and why.
The structure decides, not your preference
Which system carries the call is set by the layer split, not by "whichever scored highest", and not by letting you pick the answer you like better on the results page. That is deliberate: a tool that lets you choose is a tool that always agrees with you.
Questions people ask
The systems disagree — which one do I follow?
Read the verdict on the summary card. "Agree" means two independent lines of evidence point the same way, so you can act on it. "Opposite" means the day genuinely is unclear, so pick another one — the disagreement is itself actionable.
Why does astrology not get a vote?
Because it is not answering the same question. The void Moon is about whether the moment can carry a beginning, independent of who you are. Letting a person-independent rule stand in as "astrology's judgement of you" is precisely how false consensus gets manufactured.
Do I have to give a birthplace?
No. Without it you lose astrology, and BaZi and Zi Wei still produce a result. But minute-accurate hour recommendations come from astrology, so if you want those, a birthplace is required.
Does it cost anything?
No. All four date selection pages — BaZi, Zi Wei, electional and combined — are free and spend no credits.
