Asking an AI about your BaZi chart
The Court Astronomer is not a general chatbot with a Chinese-astrology costume on. Before it answers, it is handed the computed facts of your chart: the Day Master and its strength, the stems hidden in each branch, the Ten God relations, the luck cycle you are currently in and the year on top of it. Every answer is written against those facts, and the ones it leaned on are shown alongside it.
That matters because the failure mode of AI divination is fluency without grounding — an answer that reads beautifully and would read just as beautifully for someone born ten years earlier. Showing the evidence is how you tell the difference. If a claim is not traceable to something in the chart, you should not believe it, and you can check.
What it is good at, and what it is not
Ask it structural questions and it does well: why your chart reads as career-heavy, what the current da-yun is doing to your Day Master, why a particular year keeps coming up in your own life, how two readings you have seen elsewhere can both be defensible. Ask it to name a date, a number or a person and it will decline — not out of caution theatre, but because the chart does not contain that information and inventing it is the one thing that would make everything else worthless.
It also will not tell you what to do. It will tell you what the chart makes easy and what it makes expensive, which is the part you cannot get from anywhere else. The decision stays yours.

- Do I need a chart before I can ask?
- Yes. Without a chart there are no facts to answer against, and an answer with nothing behind it is exactly what this page exists to avoid. Charting is free and takes a birth date and, if you know it, an hour.
- Can I ask about someone else?
- You can ask about any chart saved in your account — a partner, a parent, a child. Switching charts starts a new conversation on purpose: mixing two people into one thread makes the reasoning unreliable for both.
- Is this the same as the Zi Wei Dou Shu version?
- Same interface, different evidence. The BaZi side reasons from stems, branches and Ten Gods; the Zi Wei Dou Shu side reasons from palaces, stars and the four transformations. They are separate pages because they answer from separate systems.
