01

Your relationship in focus

The distinguishing feature of this friendship comparison is its two different directions. From B's Yang Fire Day Master, A's Yin Water is Direct Officer. From A's Yin Water, B's Yang Fire is Direct Wealth. One compatibility score would obscure those separate perspectives. We will explore each, examine the cross-chart connections, and leave questions about actual experiences to the two friends.

02

Both charts and what is known

A's pillars, in year-to-hour order, are Yang Earth Dragon, Yin Fire Snake, Yin Water Rooster and Yin Fire Snake. B's are Yang Water Monkey, Yang Metal Dog, Yang Fire Dog and Yang Fire Monkey. Both birth times are supplied, so all four pillars are available. The graphics count stems and branches' primary elements, excluding hidden stems and strength weighting. They show composition, not personality or relationship quality.

03

What A brings to B

B sees A as Direct Officer, a traditional symbol associated with standards and responsibility. Used as a prompt for reflection, it opens a question for B: when A offers an opinion, do you hear an option to consider, or a requirement you feel you should meet? This does not presume that A is controlling. How a particular suggestion was received must come from B's own experience.

04

What B brings to A

In the reverse direction, A sees B as Direct Wealth. Its traditional symbolism concerns managing resources and concrete investment; it is not being used here as a romantic partner designation. A can consider a different question: what matters most about a shared arrangement—the result, taking part, or simply spending time together? The answer need not match the symbol, and the label does not establish that A keeps score in the friendship.

05

Expression and understanding

A has Yin Fire in both the month and hour stems. B has Yang Metal in the month and Yang Fire in the hour. One structure repeats a stem while the other does not; this cannot establish who speaks more directly or responds more slowly. To explore communication, each friend could recall the most important sentence from the same conversation. Did you hear the same point? What was missed? An actual exchange is needed to answer.

06

Support and pressure

A's recorded favorable elements are Metal and Water; B's are Wood and Fire. The cross-chart correspondences retain direction: Metal and Water in B's chart match A's favorable elements, while Fire in A's chart matches B's. These are symbolic correspondences, not evidence of energy passing between people. A question about practical support would be: “The last time you helped me, what did I actually need?” The recipient's answer matters more than assumptions about helpfulness.

07

Contact, companionship and personal space

The input contains no contact history, distance, work schedule or account of how these friends met. It cannot set a weekly meeting frequency. This chapter needs the friends' own expectations: does the relationship still feel steady when you are not chatting? When would you want the other person to initiate contact? Their answers provide the material for discussing companionship and personal space.

08

Responsibilities and boundaries

The two directional symbols offer different questions, but obligations between friends still require agreement. If someone promised to help and then could not finish, what would the other person want to hear? If something was only a casual suggestion, how would you establish that it was not a commitment? Neither person needs to be assigned a permanent role as the one who sets standards or the one who contributes resources.

09

How differences may surface

There are four Snake–Monkey harmony links: A's month and hour Snakes each connect with B's year and hour Monkeys. There are also two Dragon–Dog clashes: A's year Dragon connects with B's month and day Dogs. Four links do not mean four times the rapport, and two clashes do not mean two arguments. Repeated branches produce multiple records; subtracting clashes from harmonies would not yield a relationship score. These records do not identify an argument topic or distinguish short-term from long-term outcomes.

10

The current phase

Using 2026 as the reference year, the saved cycles are Yin Water Ox for A and Yin Fire Goat for B. Their start dates are August 18, 2022 and August 16, 2022 respectively. This identifies each person's recorded phase; nearby start dates do not demonstrate synchronized lives. If contact has recently changed, the missing information is what actually happened for each friend.

11

Checking against real life

The questions in chapters three and four can be answered separately by B and A before comparing their words. Which answers have concrete examples, and which are associations that arose only after reading a symbol? If experience does not fit the suggested perspective, that difference should stand. This example uses fictional birth details and contains no actual interaction record, so it cannot supply the outcome of that comparison.

12

What to try next

The useful next piece of information is a real interaction that both friends want to discuss. If B did hear A's suggestion as a requirement, clarifying what that sentence meant may help. If A was concerned about contributions to a shared arrangement, A can name the specific concern. Each starting point applies only if the friend recognizes that situation. Which question has an actual example behind it, and which does not fit at all?
